About Me

“Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others.”

— Jonathan Swift

Bio

My name is Peter Meszynski. I am a fine art photographer, based in Buffalo New York. For the last 35 years, photography has been my calling, my passion, and the thing that will undoubtedly drive me insane someday. I don’t photograph subjects. I photograph the way they make me feel. Admittedly, it’s a bit of a strange concept. But it’s honest – and it’s the best way to describe my approach to the craft. I wrestle with every image I shoot. I assume perfection is possible and I want to wring it out of every picture.

I am fortunate to be able to spend a good amount of time on personal projects, traveling and collaborating with a team of great people. If that’s all you ever know about me, it’s enough to say you know me very, very well.

When I'm not taking photos, you'll find me teaching at CEPA, printing, reading, or spending time with my family.

Expertise

My work focuses on capturing a moment in time, whether it's portraiture, lifestyle imagery, or just the perfect light.

Always experimenting with new techniques, I'm equally comfortable with analog and digital technologies, and use both according to the needs of the project.
